Right around the time a barrel of oil was around $150 USD I stumbled upon an article from an "expert" saying that the solution to resolve hunger was to give more money to poor countries in order to buy more tractors and more agrochemicals! So wrong! Then a thought popped into mind: " Do something! No matter what! Anything is better than nothing! ". Mission: increasing awareness of hydroponics and aquaponics as key tools in fighting hunger around the world.

Hello everyone! How I got into hydroponics is a long story...let's just say that it involves a lot of tedious farm work as a child, unsuccessful 'dirt' gardens of my own and a near electrocution from a semi-submersible hydroponic pump. I've learned that hydroponic gardening is the only way to garden for me and I've been working at it for several years now. I've built ebb/flow, nft, Mittleider, wick and passive systems and I'm always on the lookout for the easiest and most efficient means of hydroponic gardening...If you have questions, I would be more than happy to answer them...

It is managed by a committee elected by its members and all office bearers serve in an honorary capacity.
We are the largest hydroponic hobbyist group within Australia, proudly encompassing South Australian Hydroponic Gardening members as well. This group also encompasses aquaponic culture as well as hydroponic.
The members of the Geelong Hydroponic Gardening Inc. enjoy monthly meetings. These meetings are held at the Geelong Botanical Garden meeting rooms at 9.30am on the 1st Sunday of each month, Feb-Nov., Dec. being our Christmas break-up. To find these rooms it is easier to use the back entrance off Holt Rd. Visitors are always welcome.
Members enjoy the free use of books, videos and dvd's from the Geelong Hydroponic Gardening Inc. Library on a monthly borrowing basis.
Farm visits provide an opportunity to help diversify members gardening interests.
Members also receive a bi-monthly newsletter and are invited to contribute items of interest. This is a great way to request specific information on articles.
Information talks are also provided to any interested clubs, societies and groups etc.
